A
Screenshot Of Digital India(Part-2)
This new bend by
Tania in the curve of our discussion added new dimensions. We were now tickling
our brains to figure out how can we get different sections of our country under its
scope. Though, the government does has plans like connecting the Gram
Panchayats through a digital highway but a lot more needs to be done.
Since, internet is
the primary pathway for the e-services I mentioned “ India accounts for the
third highest number of internet users in the world yet it belongs to the list
of 42 least connected countries in the world. This is not a good sign.
The government should open computer workshops in large amount in the rural
areas where the people of those areas are completely equipped with basic knowledge of computer and
the usage of internet for their own benefit. Also, a portal should be opened
where people like us who have the basic knowledge can act as their
servers/mentors and the people from rural areas as our clients. A supervisor at
the workshops can teach them how to log onto such portals. That way we’ll be
able contribute as well, by serving their queries. The very motto is ‘Each One
Teach One’ .”
